Carbon monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odourless, and tasteless gas that comes from fuel-burning appliances, vehicle exhaust, and cigarette smoke.

The health effects of CO
exposure can be serious
or even deadly.

Protect yourself and your family from CO by installing at least one CO alarm in your home in hallways outside bedrooms where you can hear the alarm when you sleep. This may also be the law in your local area!

Detect to Protect

is a public awareness campaign about carbon monoxide, delivered by Scout Environmental, Canadian Tire, and Kidde, with support from Health Canada.

The goal

of this campaign is to educate and engage Canadians on the health risks of CO and provide simple steps that they can take to protect their health and that of their loved ones.
